PURPOSE:To generate O3 by a compact device with enhanced efficiency by using the impeller of a sirocco fan, for example, as one electrode and the casing as the other electrode to generate a corona discharge between the electrodes, and sending air by the fan. CONSTITUTION:The impeller 13 and casing 2 are opposed to each other in the air in a sirocco fan, for example; the impeller 13 is made of a material (e.g., stainless steel) having high electrical conductivity and used as one electrode; the peripheral wall 22 is composed of a conductor 25 made of a conductive material (e.g., stainless steel) and used as the other electrode and a dielectric 26 (made of silicone rubber) attached to the inner periphery of the conductor; and the wall 22 is attached to the inner surface of the peripheral wall 21b of a shell 21 made of the same material as the casing 2. A motor 3 is then driven to send air between the impeller 13 and the conductor 25 from a suction port 23 to a discharge port 24, a high voltage is simultaneously impressed by a power supplying means 4 to generate a corona discharge, and O3 is generated.
