PURPOSE:To enhance sealed reaction efficiency and discharge performance by installing a plurality of ribs on the side wall inside a container. CONSTITUTION:If ribs 2 do not exist in a container 1, oxygen gas evolved in a positive plate during overdischarge passes through a separator 4 as shown in an arrow A and reaches a negative plate 3. In this case, pores are needed in the separator 4 and the amount of an electrolyte corresponding to the pore volume is expelled. On the other hand, if ribs are installed, gas reaches the negative plate 3 through a path as shown in an arrow B. Passing through this route is easer for gas compared with pushing away the electrolyte in the separator. Since oxygen gas passing through the separator 4 is reduced compared with the case having no ribs 2, the amount of electrolyte is increased. Discharge performance and sealed reaction efficiency are improved. |
