PURPOSE:To perform time compression so that an encoded difference sound signal is within a horizontal blanking period, by superposing a frequency-modulated composite signal and a low-frequency converted color signal one over another and a low-frequency converted color signal one over another and recording them on a magnetic tape through a magnetic rotary head. CONSTITUTION:A video signal Sa supplid to an input terminal VIN is supplied to an LPF1 to obtain a composite signal Sb consisting of a luminance signal component and a synchronizing signal. This signal Sb is supplied to a frequency modulator 2, which modulates it into a low carrier FM signal. Further, this signal Sb is timecompressed 15 and supplied to a modulator 2. The signal Sa, on the other hand, is supplied to a BPF3 to obtain a composite signal Sc consisting of a color burst signal and a color signal. This signal Sc is supplied to a frequency modulator 4 to be converted into a low-frequency converted color signal. Output signals of the modulatiors 2 and 4 are mixed by a mixing and recording circuit 5 and supplied to the magnetic rotary head 6, which records the mixture signal onthe magnetic tape. Thus, the time compression is so performed that the encoded difference sound signal is within a horizontal blanking period. |
