<p>PURPOSE: To reduce reaction to slow displacement so as to improve durability by dividing an elastic body made of a polymeric synthetic resin and provided between a case and a support rod so as to receive shearing force by axial movement, in a plurality of parts by a shearing plate, and forming the viscoelastic bodies to be solid at the working temperature and to be provided with stress relaxing property for specific time. CONSTITUTION: In the case of relative vibration being generated between a damped object and a support body by an earthquake or the like, a case 1 and rods 2, 5 are relatively displaced in an axial direction. At this time, viscoelastic bodies 3, 6 provided between the case 1 and the rods 2, 5 through radiating plates 4, 7 are elastically expanded in an instant and then plastically deformed to absorb vibrational energy to suppress vibration. In the case of the damped object being expanded/contracted by heat and relatively displaced slowly, the viscoelatic bodies 3, 6 plastically flow to allow the displacement of the damped object without resistance. Only small reaction therefore acts upon the damped object. While the viscoelastic bodies 3, 6 repeat elastic and plastic deformation, vibrational energy is converted into heat energy, and the temperature of viscoelastic bodies 3, 6 rises but is cooled by radiating plates 4a, 7a, and vibrational energy is efficiently absorbed.</p> |
