The switching on of the first power stage and the complete switching off of the burner, results in the known manner by the boiler regulating circuit (A), whilst the associated switching of the second power stage is accomplished by a timer (3) integrated in the burner control circuit (B). The first power stage covers a total power range of the burner of approximately 80 percent, while the second power stage, to be operated by the timer in the burner control circuit, includes the remaining power range of approximately 20 per cent. USE/ADVANTAGE - Method of operating two stage burner (oil or gas) for boiler. Insertion of second stage without encroaching on boiler regulating circuit. Second stage only used in pressing need. Short run ups prevented as far as possible.
