The method stores received data, and transmitter's identification according to the remaining capacity of internal RAM of a facsimile when recording paper is run out of order. The method comprises the steps: (A) checking that recording paper is run out; (B) sending alarm signal during a fixed seconds when paper is run out; (C) transfering current mode to memory recording mode and checking the remaining memory capacity when no recording paper is supplied during a certain time; (D) recording received data by line units and checking the remainins memory capacity; (E) storing received data on a memory when the remaining memory capacity is larger than received data; and (F) storing transmitter's identification number and reception time when received data capacity exceeds remaining memory capacity.
