PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate valve of which compact in size can be attained by reducing a width of a housing box.SOLUTION: A gate valve of this invention comprises a valve body driving mechanism including a valve driving body having a pair of side plates arranged side-by-side toward an opening or closing direction of the gate valve got by a valve body and an L operating body fixed to a valve rod. The valve driving body and the L operating body are formed to be driven in a vertical direction by a driving source. An operating mechanism for operating the L operating body in a side-by-side arrangement direction by changing the driving force in a vertical direction of the valve driving body into the side-by-side arrangement direction is installed between each of the pair of side plates and the L operating body. Then, when the valve driving body and the L operating body are driven by a driving source in a vertical direction and the operation of the valve driving body in the vertical direction is stopped by an engagement body for stopping the operation in a vertical direction of the valve driving body, the L operating body is operated by the operating mechanism toward a direction for a pair of side plates within the valve driving body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
