A hinge, with a fixed fitting part which is designed as a hinge arm having a baseplate carrying the latter and which is connected to a pivotable fitting part, can, for the lateral setting of a door or flap carried by the pivotable fitting part, be adjusted in relation to the baseplate in the pivoting plane of the hinge by means of an actuating device. A retaining member mounted on the hinge arm and loaded by a resilient element presses the pivotable fitting part in the closing region into its closing position via a control cam pivotable together with the pivotable fitting part, whilst, outside the closing region, it is rendered ineffective by a control cam. In order, even during lateral adjustment by a pivoting of the hinge arm, to ensure that the closing device maintains its effectiveness unchanged in the closing region, the mounting of the retaining member is connected to the hinge arm and to the baseplate by means of guides (27,28) and/or gear members, in such a way that, as a result of any pivoting of the hinge arm relative to the baseplate, the retaining member is moved into a position in which it maintains essentially the same position relative to the control cam (35,36,37) in the closing position. <IMAGE> |
