1. A method of improving the efficiency of establishment of mouse or human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, comprising:
a) introducing into mouse or human somatic cells an expression vector or expression vector expression vectors comprising nucleic acids encoding any of the following (i) to (ii): (i) Oct3/4, Klf4 and Sox2, (ii) Oct3/4, Klf4, Sox2 and c-Myc, and b) culturing the somatic cells from a) in ES cell culture medium, under hypoxic conditions wherein the oxygen concentration is 5%, thereby improving the efficiency of the establishment of iPS cells compared to the establishment efficiency of mouse or human iPS cells produced by the same method at an atmospheric concentration of oxygen. |
