PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for notifying of a transfer from a first variation shortening state to a second variation shortening state and timing of transferring in the inverse way.SOLUTION: The game machine includes: an opening/closing variable ball entry device; special game determination means that executes jackpot determination by entry of a game ball in the variable ball entry device and, for each determination result, variably displays special symbols for a predetermined variation time; game control means for controlling opening/closing operation of the variable ball entry device; and performance control means displaying a variation performance in response to the symbol variation. The game control means includes opening-extension/variation-shortening execution means capable of executing an opening extension state for extending the open state of the variable ball entry device, and a variation time shortening state for shortening the variation time according to the result of the jackpot determination. The variation time shortening state includes a first variation shortening state and a second variation shortening state for shortening the variation time.
