FIELD: textile industry, in particular, production of linen filament having structure approximating to maximum extent to cotton filament. SUBSTANCE: method involves placing short-filament heaps onto heap mellowing device, where filaments are mellowed; feeding mellowed filaments by feeding conveyor to coarse combing machine; wetting obtained combings by emulsion sprayed by nozzles positioned at outlet end of combing machine; forming rolls of wetted filaments by means of rolling mechanism; delivering rolls to softening station where rolls are held for 24 h; feeding rolled filament to carding machine for fine soft cleaning; removing cleaned and mixed filament layer by comb and forming ribbon; thinning linen ribbon in junction sections of ribbon combing machine; feeding ribbon from ribbon machine to upsetting machine for further splitting of filament up to simple filament due to shearing by upsetting rolls; feeding ribbon to emulsifying device; cutting emulsified ribbon in cutting machine into lengths allowing optimum distribution of cottonized flax along length for reprocessing, for instance, with cotton, wool; feeding cut linen filaments to linen receptacle of pneumatic conveyance system for further mellowing and obtaining leveled moisture content; splitting filament by fan at pneumatic conveyance system outlet end; feeding air-and-filament mass to condenser with further supplying it to feeder and to carding machine of double-carding unit; forming fabric with multiple carding layers so that fabric layers are delivered to carding machine, with filaments being oriented in predetermined manner relative to longitudinal axis of unit; compacting cottonized filament; putting onto pallets for further pressing into pack.
