Destruction of mines at sea by surrounding with net and bringing mine to destruction unit for automatic triggering of destruction charge

A floating body (12) containing a capture and destruction unit (11) is put into the water and brought into the vicinity of a sea mine. A capture net is brought around the mine, aligned perpendicular to the mine. The ends of the capture net are wound up to haul in the net into the capture unit, until the mine lies at the destruction unit. A destruction charge is automatically triggered. A GPS navigation system may be used to determine the location of the capture and destruction unit. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for destroying sea mines.
