PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time to correct a position of a sheet material in the cross direction. SOLUTION: A first sheet material is moved to a specified position by detecting its position in the cross direction (ST6) while carrying the first sheet material (ST5). Moving quantity (correcting quantity) at the time is memorized (ST7), and while carrying sheet materials after a second one (ST9), they are moved to the same position in the cross direction as the first one (ST10). In the case when the position in the cross direction is different from the previously carried sheet material (NO of ST11), moving quantity of the sheet material is re-memorized (ST7), and while sheet materials thereafter are carried in accordance with the re-emorized moving quantity (ST9), they are moved to the same position in the cross direction as the first one (ST10). Consequently, it is possible to shorten positional correcting time in the cross direction of the sheet materials after the second sheet.
