PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable air current detector manufacturable at a low cost in a simple structure. SOLUTION: This detector comprises a casing 1 having a passage provided with a gas inflow pipe connection port 11 and an outflow pipe connection port 12 and formed of a conduit part 13 for carrying a gas vertically upward in use, auxiliary conduits 14 and 14' connected to the vertical conduit from upstream, and an auxiliary conduit 15 continued to the downstream of the vertical conduit, a cylinder 10 housed in the vertical conduit 13 of the casing 1 and having a plurality of gas outflow ports; and a float 2 having a permanent magnet 23 in the inner part and housed movably between the closing position of the cylinder 10 housed in the vertical conduit and the opening position thereof upper than the closing position; and a magnetic sensor 3 mounted on the outer wall bottom surface of the casing and capable of detecting the rise and fall of the float 2.
