PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for collecting proteins at a high concentration and a high yield, dissolving complex works in concentrating and collecting the precipitated proteins obtained by salting-out in purification of the proteins and shortening required time for concentrating the protein. SOLUTION: The method for concentrating a protein is characterized by supplying a solution containing the protein precipitated by salting-out, to the upper side of a membrane separation device comprising a filter and a casing surrounding the filter, discharging the filtrated liquid outside the system, filtered with the filter into the casing side, from an outlet set at the casing and then collecting the residual liquid containing the protein. And the other method therefor comprises previously supplying a liquid incapable of dissolving the protein precipitated by the salting-out, to the upper side of a membrane separation device comprising a filter and a casing surrounding the filter so as to substitute the equipment system with the liquid and concentrating the solution containing the protein precipitated by the salting-out.
