DECOMPOSITION METHOD FOR DIOXINS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decomposition method for dioxins which simplifies a treatment apparatus and reduces treatment cost. SOLUTION: The decomposition method for dioxins is equipped with a process for adding water and an iron powder to a solid substance containing dioxins to obtain a slurry-like material and a process for heating the slurry-like material at a treatment temperature of 30 to 100°C under stirring. As the iron powder, there is deoxidizing iron powder or iron powder for a body warmer. The loadings of the iron powder are 1.0 to 20 mass % per the dry matter of a solid substance. If necessary, a surfactant is added or an pH controller for making the system alkaline is added. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
