PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a periodic structure, by which the period structure can excellently and simply be formed, and to provide the periodic structure. SOLUTION: After a 1st stage (step S100) wherein transmissivity is high and then a 2nd stage (step S200) wherein the transmissivity decreases, the periodic structure is formed (step S300) as a final stage. For example, a dispersion solution is spread between two substrates and sedimentation and cohesion of particulates are used to form a structure of the particualtes having excellent periodicity.
