DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR DECODING INFORMATION RECORDED IN A BCA OF AN OPTICAL DISK, SPECIALLY CORRELATED TO QUICKLY PERCEIVING A STRUCTURE OF A DEMODULATION-COMPLETED BCA BY USING A REGISTER IN ORDER TO RAPIDLY COMPLETE A DECODING OF BCA INFORMATION

PURPOSE: A device and a method for decoding information recorded in a BCA(Burst Cutting Area) of an optical disk are provided to complete a decoding of BCA information according to features of data recorded in a BCA, only if more than one unit is read, even though the recorded data is not completely read. CONSTITUTION: A BCA unit reader(201) reads a predetermined number of BCA units including BCA information, error correction codes, and repeated frequency information from a BCA of an optical disk(10). A BCA unit demodulator(202) demodulates the read BCA units. A BCA unit correcting portion(204) corrects errors of normally demodulated BCA units by using error correction codes included in the normally demodulated BCA units, when more than one BCA unit is normally demodulated. A BCA information decoder(211) decodes BCA information included in the normally corrected BCA units.
