PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prevent each electronic apparatus from being controlled from a remote control apparatus other than a corresponding remote control apparatus. SOLUTION: In a remote controller 11, a personal identification number is set. The remote controller 11 transmits a control signal adding the personal identification number to the control signal when the personal identification number is set, and transmits the control signal as it is when the personal identification number is not set. When a personal identification number is set in a television receiver 12 itself, a control signal from the remote controller 11 becomes a control signal which requires the television receiver to be in a personal-identification-number setting mode for setting a personal identification number. If a personal identification number the same as the set number has been added, the television set becomes in the personal-identification-number setting mode.
