Ladle lining ramming gear - has centrifugal head and guide shuttering moving in helical line upwards

Rammed linings for ladles and furnaces can be replaced by a centrifugal head which applies the refractory material to the gap between the ladle shell and a guide shuttering. The centrifugal head is kept by a stop at a constant distance from the lining and is moved radially and axially in a helical line. The guide shuttering is so designed that it exerts a compacting force at right angles to the ladle shell which is additional to the centrifugal compacting force parallel to the shell. This ensures a very uniform quality of the rammed lining. The adjustable design saves the manufacture and storage or individual shuttering for various sizes. Auxiliary and manual operations are saved.
