1463897 Vehicle door operating mechanisms E BODE 22 April 1974 [21 April 1973] 17579/74 Heading E2M A vehicle door operating mechanism, of the type in which the door (not shown) is carried on arms 2, 3 extending from a member 1 pivotable by a pneumatic drive device 5 (comprising a blade or arm within a casing) through a predetermined angle, is provided with bearing means 8 between the member 1 and the drive device to allow limited lateral movement of the axis of the member 1, and connecting means 10 allows relative movement of the bearing and casing. An output shaft 4 of the drive device 5 is coupled via a coupling means 6 to the end of the member I and a bearing shell 8b disposed directly on the member engages in a bearing support 8a. The drive device 5 is elastically mounted at 10 via a deformable sleeve 12 to a bracket 11 and both bracket and the bearing support 8a are mounted on a supporting plate 14. In other embodiments the drive device can be mounted at the top of the member 1 (Fig. 2 not shown), or a fixing screw can directly link drive device and member through the pivot axis with the drive device casing secured against rotation to a fixed support (Figs. 3, 4 not shown) by adjustment screws. |
