1489351 Piezo-electric transducers PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Feb 1976 [3 March 1975] 07815/76 Heading H4J A corrugated piezo-electric transducer is arranged such that either the polarization direction A, B (Fig. 1) varies from flank to flank in sequence or such that the applied electric field E 1 , E 2 (Fig. 6) varies from flank to flank. The piezo-electric material may be polyvinylidenefluoride. A sheet may be polarized by folding it in zig-zag fashion between two electrodes (Fig. 4, not shown) to produce the alternating polarization arrangement of Fig. 1. The transducer may be used as a loudspeaker diaphragm. In particular the diaphragm may be circular with circular corrugations. The cross-section of the corrugations may be sinusoidal. |
