Weld-test liq. seal for pipe insulation - comprises strip temporarily replacing insulation during application of fluid

The arrangement is intended for use when removing a liquid applied to the outside of a pipeline (1) with encapsulated heat insulation (20), e.g. when testing pipe welds (11, 12) or cleaning contaminated sections. The insulation comprises a number of sections (21, 22) removable to expose the welds. The gap between the pipe and the sections remaining in situ is sealed with a strip (6) before the liquid is applied. The strip is removed after application and final removal of the liquid, after which the temporarily removed insulating sections are replaced. This prevents any liq. penetrating behind the insulating sections which remain in situ.
