PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by shortening the transient time of the clock driving waveform of a CCD having many picture elements, by using two inverters, consisting of complementary type insulating gate field effect transistors (CMOS), and a bipolar transistor (TR) in combination. CONSTITUTION:CMOS inverters 11 and 12 are composed of P channel MOSFETs Q1 and Q3, and N channel MOSFETs Q2 and Q4 respectively. The base of an NPN type bipolar TRQ5 is connected to the output of the inverter 11, the emitter is connected to the output of the inverter 12, and the collector is connected to a power source VDD. When the Q3 and Q5 turn on to charge a Cphi, the Q5 has a less voltage drop and the major part of a current from the power source flow through the Q5, so a switching speed is improved. The base of a PNPTR is connected to the output of the inverter 1, the emitter is connected to the output of the inverter 2, and the collector is grounded to obtain the same improved effect. |
