PURPOSE:To achieve a high degree of heat transfer characteristics by a method wherein heat is transferred by utilizing phase changes of a working medium in a container, in a heat transfer device having a heat-receiving part located above a heat-radiating part. CONSTITUTION:When the heat-receiving part 4A consisting of an upper part of the container 4 is heated and the heat-radiating part 4B consisting of a lower part of the container 4 is cooled, the working medium 5 in the container 4 is solidified by releasing heat at the heat-radiating part 5. Since the solidified material 6 has a lower density than that of the liquid state, it is moved upward in the container 4 due to the difference in density to reach the heat-receiving part 4A. The part 4A is supplied with heat by heating from outside, so that the solidified working medium (the solidified material) 6 is melted to be a liquid again. Accordingly, the working medium 5 is subjected to solidification and melting repeatedly in the container 4, and the heat of phase change is transferred between the inside and the outside of the container 4, achieving a transfer of heat. |
