PURPOSE:To simplify the work of connecting together the ends of belts by fitting the ends of belts onto the both sides of the groove in a rod-like receiving member of roughly ? shaped section and fittig a rod-shaped auxiliary member of roughtly trapezoidal section between the ends of the belts. CONSTITUTION:A receiving member A is a rod-shaped body of roughly ? shaped section having a rectangular groove 10 with edges bulging out to make the opening narrower than th inside and its axis is arc-shaped. An auxiliary member B is a flexible rod-shaped body of roughly trapezoidal section to snugly fit in and fill the empty space remaining inside the groove 10 after the ends of the belts X and Y have been fitted onto both sides of the groove and its axis is arc-shaped. The auxiliary member B has hollows 22 on the surface 20 which comes into contact with the bottom of the groove 10 when B is fitted into said groove. The hollows 22 are positioned off the the center of the trapezoidal section and are arranged at regular intervals along the axis of the rod-shaped member. |
