Circuit arrangement for determining the thickness of extruded briquettes

For the purpose of reliably determining the briquette thickness, there is arranged on the press a strain gauge bridge which generates a voltage signal which replicates the variation in extrusion pressure and is fed to a precision operation amplifier having a downstream linear two-way rectifier. This signal is increased by feeding in direct current, the amplifier 87 ... receiving 99% of this signal and charging the storage capacitors with this level. The comparator compares this level with the 100% peak value and switches to high if the increased input signal level drops from the 100% peak value below the set stored value, the shaped output signal of which is connected to the gate. The clock pulses are tapped directly at the briquette extruder, appropriately shaped and connected to the counter. When the front deadpoint of the die is reached, an initiator system switches this signal after appropriate shaping to an RS flip flop and sets the latter to high, as a result of which the storage capacitor is discharged via the electrical switch. The storage capacitor is connected to the comparator that is switched to low level, and the connected gate, which is blocked anew, terminates the counting process.
