PURPOSE:To improve the performance, service life and reliability of a fuel cell by letting oxidizer gas to flow in adjacent unit cells in crossing directions to each other so as to make temperature distribution in the cell uniform. CONSTITUTION:For making flows of oxidizer gas 3 to be supplied to adjacent unit cells flow in crossing directions to each other, crossing flows, parallel flows, opposite flows, etc., can be made for combination of flows of oxidier gas 3 and fuel gas 6, since the flow direction of fuel gas 6 is fixed. Inlets and outlets of oxidier gas 3 therefore differ in adjacent unit cells, and heat generation distribution also differs based on current density distribution. By combination of both, temp distribution can thus be uniformalized for both of the flow direction of oxidier gas 3 and the crossing direction to it, thereby the performance, service life and reliability of a fuel cell can be improved. |
