PURPOSE:To prevent excessive thickness of molten slag and raising of carbon content in a carbon steel by containing the specific wt.% strong reduction material in mold powder and further limiting carbon content in the mold powder to less than the prescribed %. CONSTITUTION:The strong reduction material of Ca-Si powder, metal Al powder, etc., is contained at 0.5-5.0wt.% in the mold powder. Further, the carbon content in the powder is regulated to in the range of less than 1.0%. In the case of executing continuous casting by using this mold powder, the strong reduction material in the powder precedently reacts with oxygen in the melting process. Therefore, as the carbon content in the powder is regulated to less than 1.0%, the excessive melting of the powder and the excessive combustion of the carbon are prevented. By this method, the excessive thickness of the molten slag and the raising of the carbon content in the carbon steel are prevented. |
