The pipe-clamping connection (45) is formed by a coupling housing (46), a clamping ring (20) and a male pipe fitting (19) or a union nut. The coupling housing (46) has, on the inner side, an inner cone surface (51) at a very small cone angle. Moreover, a screw thread either for a male pipe fitting or a union nut is provided on the coupling housing. The outer side of the clamping ring (20) is conical and matched to the inner cone surface (51) on the coupling housing (46). On its inner side, the clamping ring (20) is provided with encircling annular ribs. At its narrower end, the clamping ring (20) has an annularly closed length portion. In the adjoining, central length portion, the clamping ring (20) has a helically running spiral slit which continues in the radial direction and the winding direction of which is counter to the winding direction of the screw thread on the coupling housing (46). Expediently, the length portion at the thicker end of the clamping ring (20) is, in turn, annularly closed.
