The keg-processing station has a keg-fitting (3) with first opening connected to a standpipe and second one connected to the interior of the keg (2), both openings being automatically shut. A processing head (28) contains passages for gas and liquid, and a keg-supported (29) working in vertical guides lowers the keg with its fitting at the bottom onto the head to form a sealed joint. The support has vertical bars (32) spaced apart and working in guides (33), which can be situated above or below the support surface, and the bar length can be greater than the keg height. Lifting can be by a ram acting on a cross-member fixed between the bars and situated between the latter. The support surface (30) can be formed by a plate on two fork prongs. USE/ADVANTAGE - Improved guidance of keg and consequent reduced wear on processing-head seal.
