A disk drive has a common signal return lead 79 that interconnects a plurality of read transducers in a slider through the suspension to a preamplifier. The preamplifier 60 has an isolated differential amplifier 61, 62 for each of the plurality of readers in the slider. The set of signal traces in the suspension include a common signal return lead for the plurality of readers in the slider and a plurality of dedicated signal traces each connected to a corresponding read transducer. The isolated amplifiers each have a separate bias voltage source and power supply isolation elements 91-94 for both power supply polarities Vcc and Vee for reduced crosstalk signal and noise between amplifiers. The suspension may include a shielding network of conductive material in a second layer disposed above a first layer containing the dedicated signal traces. |
