PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate neutron absorber that can easily infiltrate into a clearance occurring in a debris containing a fissile material and can prevent recriticality by the fissile material contained in the debris, and to provide a method of manufacturing the absorber, slurry containing the particulate neutron absorber, and a criticality prevention method.SOLUTION: The particulate neutron absorber has an average grain size of 7 mm or less and a density allowing settling underwater. In the method of manufacturing the particulate neutron absorber, a coarse particle obtained by dropping, into a ketone, a drop undiluted solution containing the particulate neutron absorber, water, and a thickener at a specific ratio is sintered. The slurry is obtained by mixing a viscous flow agent, water, and the particulate neutron absorber. A criticality prevention method is provided. |
