An elongate substrate 10 with at least one electrically conductive element and a plurality of sound producing units 16, for example loudspeakers, enclosed along the substrate. The preferred embodiment is a piece of elongate flexible tape, such as that used by police or other emergency services to block pedestrian or vehicle access, with loudspeakers enclosed within, preferably the tape is a flattened tube, folded along its length and heat sealed or pressure sealed. A sensor 26 may be included to trigger a driving unit or input device 38 to send a signal to the loud speakers, the sensor may be a motion sensor, for example a passive infrared sensor (PIR), the sensor may also alter the volume of the audio output, for example at day or night. The input device may be a microphone or media player. The elongate flexible barrier may be attached between posts 70, cones hooks or tied across entrances, e.g. doorways. The surface of the sound producing units may be covered with a waterproofing layer such as a silicone-based spray. |
