PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat resistance, contactness, chemical resistance, barrier performance, and transparency by providing a colored layer on a substrate and a protection layer on the colored layer, and specifying the specific dielectric constant of the protection layer. SOLUTION: A substrate 2 is provided on a deflection plate 1a, and a proper electrode 3 is provided between the substrate 2 and an alignment film 4a. The alignment film 4a and the other alignment film 4b are held by spacers 6 and the thickness of a liquid crystal material 5 provided between those alignment films 4a and 4b is held constant. Sealants are used as the spacers 6 to prevent the liquid crystal material 5 from deteriorating. Further, a color filter 7 for color separation provided with a substrate 7a, a colored layer 7b, and a protection film 7c in order is provided on the alignment film 4b while having the protection film 7c in contact with the alignment film 4b. In this case, the specific dielectric constant of the protection film 7c is 2.5 to 4.8. Further, the other deflection plate 1b is provided on the substrate 7a of the color filter 7 for color separation. |
