The present invention relates to a robot cleaner and a control method therefor, and more particularly, to a robot cleaner comprising an illuminance sensor provided at the upper portion of a body of the robot cleaner, thereby intensively cleaning the bottom of furniture such as a bed and a sofa, which has a relatively low illuminance. That is, the robot cleaner according to the present invention comprises a furniture bottom detecting means provided at the upper portion of the body of the robot cleaner to detect an area, of which the height is low, such as the bottom of furniture, and is controlled through a furniture bottom cleaning process by the furniture bottom cleaning means. Thus, the present invention is provided with the furniture bottom detecting means formed at the upper portion of the body of the robot cleaner, thereby intensively cleaning only the bottom of the furniture such as a bed or a sofa of which the illuminance is low and the height is low. |
