The invention relates to weighing scales comprising a carrier plate (1), a substructure (2) supporting the carrier plate, weighing cells (6) comprising at least one strain gauge (10), electronics (4) which are capable of calculating the weight of the load and a display device for displaying the determined weight and a battery compartment for accommodating the electronics (4) with a voltage source that supplies current. Weights from the prior art have the disadvantage that the weighing cells (6) are not protected against penetrating fluid. The invention makes an improvement in that the kitchen scales are designed as open kitchen scales, wherein a joint-like gap is provided between the carrier plate and the substructure, through which gap water and/or liquid can penetrate the kitchen scales and can leave the kitchen scales and that the weighing cell (6) has at least one strain gauge which is provided at least partially with a parylene coating. |
