In a thin film store comprising, magnetic storage elements disposed on supporting means, a plurality of digit conductors disposed substantially parallel to the surface of said elements, and a plurality of sense conductors, each substantially parallel to a corresponding digit conductor in the region of the elements, each combination of corresponding light and sense conductors is formed by three conductive strips of similar width, the two outer strips being connected in parallel. The invention is described with reference to the multi-plane word organized thin film magnetic store disclosed in the parent Specification, in which each digit conductor is in the form of two conductors connected in parallel, and the respective sense conductor is disposed between said two conductors. In this arrangement, spurious signals induced in the sense conductors because of coupling with the digit conductors are reduced, while the screening effect of the digit conductors on the sense conductors is avoided.
