A biopsy needle comprising: a tubular section formed in a hollow tube shape and having a first end portion in a tube axis direction and a second end portion opposite thereto; and a needle tip section having an opening portion in communication with the inside of the tubular section and formed at a position including the first end portion of the tubular section, wherein the needle tip section includes: a first beveled surface constituted of a plane extended in a direction crossing a tube axis of the tubular section and configured to define a part of a contour of the opening portion;a second beveled surface adjacent to the first beveled surface and forming an angle with the first beveled surface, constituted of a plane adjacent to an inner circumferential surface of the tubular section, and configured to define a part of the contour of the opening portion using a nodal line between the inner circumferential surface and the second beveled surface;a third beveled surface adjacent to the first beveled surface and forming an angle with the first beveled surface at an opposite side of the second beveled surface with the opening portion interposed therebetween, constituted of a plane adjacent to the inner circumferential surface of the tubular section, and configured to define a part of the contour of the opening portion using a nodal line between the inner circumferential surface and the third beveled surface;a first boundary line serving as a boundary between the first beveled surface and the second beveled surface; anda second boundary line serving as a boundary between the first beveled surface and the third beveled surface, and the first boundary line and the second boundary line are non-parallel straight lines having an interval that gradually increases in a direction from the second end portion toward the first end portion in the tube axis direction of the tubular section.
