Provided is a method for automatically regulating the manner of spraying of a water heater, comprising: recording the manner of spraying sustained for a certain threshold at a certain water temperature (S101); when the ratio of the number of times the manner of spraying sustained for a certain threshold at a certain water temperature to the number of times another manner of spraying is sustained for a certain threshold at a certain water temperature is larger than a certain threshold, setting the manner of spraying sustained for a certain threshold at a certain water temperature to be a matching manner of spraying (S102); detecting a user's current water temperature (S103); according to the current water temperature, preferably setting the manner of spraying to be the matching manner of spraying (S104).
