An event report is received for train A operated on a railway network 12, the report imputing a location. An alternative event location is specified to be a reference point location adjusted by an adjustment vector. The reference point is one of multiple network reference points specified in a database, each having a location and type. It is identified as being of a type associated with the event and at a location which satisfies a distance threshold criterion relative to the imputed location. The reference point may be railway infrastructure (e.g. a signal, station, switch, points, track section, neutral section, bridge, tunnel, third rail or high speed, speed restriction or stopping location, etc) or another train event (e.g. electrical or mechanical noise, braking or operation of a horn, door operation or a circuit break). The event may be displayed at the adjusted relative position to shows its relationship to the related infrastructure or event. |
