A television having a distance alarm function and a control method for the television. The television comprises a television body (10). The television body (10) comprises a frame (110) and a display screen (130). The frame (110) is provided with a child mode switching knob (95). Provided at the front side of the frame (110) is a distance sensor (61) used for detecting the distance between a child and the television body (10). Provided within the frame (110) is a control module (48) for sounding a voice alarm when the distance between the child and the television body (10) detected by the distance sensor (61) is less than 3 meters. With the television having the distance alarm function and the control method for the television, when the distance between the child and the display screen (130) detected by the distance sensor is less than 3 meters, the control module (48) sounds the voice alarm to prompt the child to keep an appropriate distance from the television, and a parent can supervise in a timely manner the child in keeping a distance from the television. |
