In order to perform recovery processing operation of bad situation of a conveying path used for inversion, a medium processing device (1) is provided with a device main body portion (2), an inversion unit (3) which can be installed around a predetermined on-off center line (40) in an on-off manner relative to the device main body portion (2). The device main body portion (2) is provided with main body side conveying path (13) which conveys sheet medium (P), and a medium processing portion (22) which performs specific processing on the medium (P) conveyed along the main body side conveying path (13). The inversion unit (3) is provided with the conveying path (14) used for inversion which makes the positive surface and the negative surface of the medium (P) sent in from the main body side conveying path (13) invert, so that the medium (P) is retured to the main body side conveying path (13). If the inversion unit (3) is opened, a part of the conveying path (14) used for inversion is in an open state. |
