A half bridge (1) comprises a first input terminal (2), a second input terminal (3), an output terminal (4), a first bridge switch (S1) connected between the first input terminal (2) and the output terminal (4), a second bridge switch (S2) connected between the second input terminal (3) and the output terminal (4), a first additional bridge switch (S3) connected between the first input terminal (2) and the output terminal (4), and a second additional bridge switch (S4) connected between the second input terminal (3) and the output terminal (4). The first additional bridge switch (S3) and the second additional bridge switch (S4) are each connected in series to a reverse voltage compensator (32) between the respective input terminal (2, 3) and the output terminal (4). When the first additional bridge switch (S3) is closed instead of the first bridge switch (S1), or when the second additional bridge switch (S4) is closed instead of the second bridge switch (S2), the reverse voltage compensator (32) compensates a reverse voltage between the output terminal (4) and the respective input terminal (2, 3), said reverse voltage running against the current flow from the respective input terminal (2, 3) to the output terminal (4). |
