There are numerous proteins for which the in-vivo action differs depending on the variant. In order to gain a more accurate understanding of the in-vivo protein action, it is necessary, when quantifying proteins in a sample, to measure the amount of each variant that can be present. Provided is a method for performing parallel quantification in mass spectrometry of variants of proteins that have two or more variants, wherein the method comprises: protease-digesting proteins in a sample; detecting, using mass spectrometry, those peptides among the peptides obtained by protease digestion that have an amino acid sequence unique to the variants, without isolating the peptides; and determining the amount of each of the variants in the sample on the basis of the detection results. |
