1. A method for diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in a patient, said method comprising
(a) obtaining a test sample from the patient; (b) measuring levels of a set of biomarkers in a test sample obtained from a patient, wherein said set of biomarkers comprises AFP and at least one additional biomarker selected from the group consisting of CEA, CA 125, CA 19-9, and combinations thereof; (c) comparing said levels of said set of biomarkers in said test sample to a disease discrimination cut-off level for each individual biomarker in the set of biomarkers; and (d) diagnosing from said comparing step the presence or absence of HCC in said patient, wherein a diagnosis is positive for HCC if the levels of at least two biomarkers in the set meet or exceed the disease discrimination cut-off level for the at least two biomarkers of the set of biomarkers. |
