1. A system configured to deliver electrical stimulation to a patient's vagus nerve, the system comprising a delivery catheter and a deployment member extendable and retractable from a lumen of the catheter, the deployment member including a guidewire, at least one electrode, and a tubular member, the at least one electrode being connected to a distal portion of an implantable medical lead, the lead being advanceabie over the guidewire, and the tubular member including a lumen in which the lead and the guidewire are received such that the lead and the guidewire are advanceable therein; andwherein:
one or both of the tubular member and the guide wire is constructed of a shape memory material to take on an S-shape when the deployment member is advanced out from the lumen of the catheter; and the S-shape is configured to span a well of a vein adjacent to the vagus nerve, when the deployment member extends through the wall. |
