The present invention is applicable to the field of video monitoring, and provides a monitoring data writing method and apparatus. The monitoring data writing method comprises: obtaining a current writing request; detecting whether the file related with the current writing request is the same as the file related with a previous writing request; detecting whether there is a rest space left in a data region of a present storage block if the file related with the current writing request is the same as the file related with a previous writing request; and writing monitoring data corresponding to the current writing request into the data region of the storage block according to the sequential writing mode if there is a rest space left in the data region of the present storage block. The present invention changes the writing operation mode used for a video monitoring device writing to a storage medium from a random writing mode to a sequential writing mode. The method effectively avoids the bandwidth bottlenecks of the random writing mode. And the method can also meets the ever-increasing writing bandwidth requirement of video monitoring applications without additional hardware investment. |
