A control method for a digital photo frame is executed by a handheld electronic apparatus (11). The method comprises: wirelessly connecting to a digital photo frame (13); displaying a photo viewing interface, the photo viewing interface displaying a plurality of photos in the handheld electronic apparatus (11); when a user selects a first photo, transmitting the first photo to the digital photo frame (13), wherein in this case, the digital photo frame (13) does not display the first photo; and when an action of the user exerted on the handheld electronic apparatus (11) conforms to a generation mode of a control signal, transmitting the control signal to the digital photo frame (13) so as to display the first photo. A photo is conveniently and visually displayed on the digital photo frame (13) by means of the handheld electronic apparatus (11).
