This invention provides methods and compositions for treating or preventing migraine headache and/or symptoms thereof in a subject. The method comprises administering to the subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of noribogaine, noribogaine derivative, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

A method for treating migraine headache and/or symptoms thereof in a patient in need thereof, comprising administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of noribogaine, an ester thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of each thereof, wherein the therapeutically effective amount is sufficient to treat migraine headache and/or symptoms thereof while targeting a maximum QT interval prolongation of less than about 40 milliseconds during said treatment.
